LINCOLN — Nebraska high school student athletes, coaches and fans will face additional requirements during postseason competition this fall.

The Nebraska School Activities Association announced its postseason health and safety protocols in September.

The NSAA says participants are permitted to wear face covering and coaches are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings. Spectators are required to wear face coverings while attending indoor events and at outdoor events when six feet of physical distancing is not possible.

Host schools can establish additional requirements, but they must be the same for all teams, officials and spectators.

The NSAA says that postseason games will not be postponed or canceled. If a team cannot participate due to COVID-19, that team will not advance.
