SIDNEY, NE - A house fire that took the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department hours to put out on Tuesday, flared up on Wednesday night.

Calls of the re-emboldened flames came in around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. When our reporter arrived on scene there was a heavy amount of smoke coming from the residence.

Crews inside the home as well as a firefighter on a ladder truck could be seen spraying water at targeted parts of the roof of the home.

Around 9:15 most of the smoke coming from the house was gone. Crews remained on the scene. Traffic was once again blocked off from 7th to 9th Avenues along Maple St.

The same house originally caught fire Tuesday morning. Crews were on scene for roughly eight hours working to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office. The house is considered a total loss.
