HARRISON, Neb. - The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a single-engine airplane crash that killed two people near the Nebraska panhandle town of Harrison on Sunday afternoon.

The board says the crash happened at approximately 2 p.m. when the Beechcraft P35 Bonanza went down due to "unknown circumstances." The pilot and the lone passenger were killed. Their names have not been released. 

The NTSB continue to investigate at the crash site.

The last time a fatal plane crash happened in the northern panhandle was in July 2019 when a three-member family from California died in a twin-engine plane went down a half-mile north of the Chadron Municipal Airport. The flight originated at Oshkosh, Wisconsin and was inbound for Chadron.
