Northern panhandle adds Winter Weather Advisory to Wind Warning Wednesday

CHADRON, NE — If the high winds forecast for Wednesday weren't enough, people in the northern panhandle may also have snow to deal with.

CHADRON, NE — If the high winds forecast for Wednesday weren't enough, people in the northern panhandle may also have snow to deal with. 

The National Weather Service has placed Dawes, Sheridan and Western Cherry counties under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning Wednesday at noon MST. 

Officials say people accumulations of 1-3 inches are possible. Meanwhile winds are forecast to gust to 60 miles-per-hour. 

The Winter Weather Advisory expires at 8 p.m. MST. The High Wind Warning, in place for the entire panhandle will stay in effect until 11 p.m. MST. 

Officials urge caution on roadways especially with conditions prime for blowing snow and reduced visibility.
