Winds are starting to whip in western Nebraska.

Gusts of up to 65 miles-per-hour are expected, but locally higher gusts cannot be ruled out.

The National Weather Service says the timeframe for the highest gusts in western Nebraska is between noon and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The entire state is under a High Wind Warning until late tonight. For western Nebraska, the northern panhandle remains under a winter weather advisory until 8 p.m. MST Wednesday.

Areas expected to see snow could have periods of reduced visibility due to blowing snow. A snow squall cannot be ruled out.

In the southern panhandle, drivers along Interstate 80 are asked to use caution while driving, especially high profile or light vehicles.
