The Bayard girls and boys each picked up wins over the Sioux County Warriors Thursday night.

The Sioux County girls dropped their third straight to fall to 7-5 in a 57-32 loss. Bayard jumped out to an early 16-3 lead after the first quarter. The Warriors came out strong in the second quarter and closed the gap to 16-13 but fell behind 25-18 again before the half-time break. Sioux County challenged the Tigers again to pull within three in the third but couldn’t sustain the run and trailed 45-29 at the end of the quarter.

Beth Krein led the Warriors with 10 points, and Rachel Krein grabbed 16 rebounds for Sioux County. Bayard’s Lexi Fiscus dropped 24 points for the Tigers.

In the boys’ contest, the Tigers dominated from start to finish in the 69-19 victory, rolling to a 30-6 lead after the first eight minutes and a 58-13 half-time advantage using the press to keep the Warriors from crossing half-court through much of the first half.

Tucker Monroe led the Warriors with 12 points. Trent Marquez and Garrett Hopkins led the Tigers with 12 points each and Karter Winter had 10.
