The Eastern Wyoming College Board of Trustees has rejected the 3 finalists to become the next president of the school.

Board Chair Robert Baumgartner says the board determined after much deliberation and feedback from students, employees, and the community that none of the 3 aligned with the needs of the college at this time.

Each of the finalists had interviews and Meet and Greets on the EWC campuses in Torrington and Douglas, and Baumgartner says the board would like to thank them for their time and interest.

The EWC board will now appoint an interim president while starting over on the search for a new president, who would begin January 1st. The Trustees will work on the details of both at their next regular meeting, which is Tuesday in Torrington.

Current Eastern Wyoming President Dr Lesley Travers announced in October that she is retiring when her contract expires at the end of this June. She’s been president since 2017.
