Huskers Finish Drake Relays

Darius Luff was the runner-up in the men's 110-meter hurdles to lead the Huskers at the Drake Relays on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Darius Luff was the runner-up in the men's 110-meter hurdles to lead the Huskers at the Drake Relays on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Luff ran a time of 13.97 to finish second behind Michigan's Joshua Zeller (13.79). Also on the track, the men's 4x400-meter relay team finished in second place. The team of Jacob HydeAlex NelsonCory Berg and Nick Bryant ran a season-best time of 3:09.95 to finish just behind North Dakota State (3:09.90). 

In the men's shot put invitational, Burger Lambrechts Jr. placed sixth competing against mostly professionals. Lambrechts Jr. posted a throw of 62-2 1/4 (18.95m). Also for the Huskers in the field, Maxwell Otterdahl placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 169-10 (51.76m). 

The Husker pole vaulters competed at the Rock Chalk Classic on Saturday as well. Andy Jacobs took third in the women's pole vault, clearing 12-11 3/4 (3.96m). 

Nebraska wraps up the track and field regular season next weekend at the Ward Haylett Invitational in Manhattan, Kan.
