STERLING, Colo. - Members of a Sterling, Colo. home were able to escape a fire in the basement early Monday morning.

The Sterling Fire Department says the Logan County Sheriff's Office reported smoke billowing from the large multi-level home at the 10,000 block of Highway 61 shortly after midnight. Fire department members stretched an attack line to the basement and quickly located the fire.

No injuries were reported. The Merino Volunteer Fire Department and Fleming Volunteer Fire Department were called for mutual aid, but the call was later canceled prior to arrival.
