CHADRON, Neb. -- Residents all over Nebraska are getting ready for another late-season blast of winter weather.

The snow moved into the state overnight, with the panhandle getting the initial run of snow.

The image of snow comes from Chadron, which is bracing for anywhere from eight to 12 inches of snow.

The heaviest snow int he northern panhandle is expected to taper off by this evening, and move out of that region overnight.

City officials in Chadron announced that the city transit service would not be running Wednesday or Thursday out of an abundance of caution.

Snow emergencies have been declared in towns all over the state, with cities along U.S. Highway 20 and farther north expected to see the highest snowfall totals.
