49th Sidney Oktoberfest underway
Saturday starts early with O'Fest Run
SIDNEY -- Vendors were busy setting up shop, singers preparing their voices as the Oktoberfest festivities started with the "tapping of the keg."
At the tipping of the mugs, the annual celebration formally began with music, food and festivities scheduled to last through the weekend. Tonight will be active with the craft vendors and home businesses until about 7 p.m.. The Husker game will be broadcast at 6 p.m. and The Shon Townsend will be on stage 9 p.m. to midnight.
Saturday starts with the SRMC O'Fest Run from the Community Center at 7:30 a.m.
The O'Fest four-person scramble, Oktoberfest parade and crafts fair start at 10 a.m.
The Cruisin' Class Car Show "Show & Shine" is set for 11 a.m. t 4 p.m. at Legion Park. A horseshoe tournament is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Legion Park and the night closes with "8 Track Flashback" on stage 9 p.m. to midnight.
