PUEBLO, Colo. -- The Chadron State College golf team shot a 319 (+31) on Tuesday during round two of the Sam Proal Insurance Invitational in Pueblo, Colorado.
 
The Eagles improved by nine strokes compared to Monday but dropped one spot in the team rankings, finishing 8th place in a field of 13 teams.
 
Brooke Kramer, a senior from Aurora, Colorado had the best round for CSC on Tuesday but Jordan Grasis, a senior from Yuma, Arizona, finished the highest on the leader board.
 
Grasis finished tied for 15th place after shooting a +5 (77). Her front nine consisted of five bogeys and one double bogey while the back nine had one bogey and three birdies. For the tournament, she finished at +12 (156).
 
Kramer finished one stroke ahead of Grasis after carding a 76 (+4) Tuesday, an improvement of seven strokes from round one.
 
Similar to Grasis, Kramer had a better back nine than front nine. On the front, six bogeys found her scorecard. The back nine started with four birdies and a par. Her last four holes had one birdie and three bogeys, placing her tied for 21st.
 
Kinsey Smith, a senior from Windsor, Colorado finished tied for 30th after shooting a +9 (81) in both rounds. Smith had three bogeys and one birdie on the front nine before four bogeys and one triple bogey on the back nine.
 
Teammates Payton Wise and Allison Acosta finished tied for 54th place.
 
Wise, a sophomore from Kimball, Nebraska, had three double-bogeys and bogeys on the front nine. Her back nine scorecard was identical to her front nine, finishing with a +18 (90).
 
 Acosta, a senior from Oro Valley, Arizona, had six bogeys on the front nine and five bogeys and a double-bogey on the back nine. She finished the round at +13 (85).
 
Aubree Heinsma, a sophomore from Windsor and Kenzey Kanno, a senior from Mitchell, Nebraska, both improved during round two while competing unattached.
 
Kanno finished at +16 (88) today after a +23 (95) finish yesterday. Heinsma dropped nine strokes off her score, carding a 99 (+27) yesterday before a 90 (+18) today.
 
The Eagles conclude their fall schedule next week when they compete in Billings, Montana on Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16.
