SIDNEY (October 16, 2023) -- The Sidney Police Department is currently investigating a string of thefts that occurred between the evening of Saturday, October 14, and the morning hours of the Sunday, October 15.

Authorities are asking everyone to please lock your vehicles and secure your valuables. Additionally, any information, photos or videos helping identify the suspects would be appreciated.

Sidney Police Chief Joe Aiken said this afternoon his department has reached out to other law enforcement agencies. He said the incidents are related to the video on social media of what appears to be two people trying to enter a vehicle.

He stressed the importance of vehicle and home security.

"If you don't have a security camera, get one," Aikens said.

He added that if you suspect someone has entered your vehicle or property, contact law enforcement; even if you believe nothing was taken.

Please contact an Officer by calling 308-254-5515. The police department thanks those who have already provided information.
