Kimball Health Services sets grand opening date for new hospital

After two years of construction, the new Kimball Health Services hospital will be completed by the end of the year. The KHS team is expected to get the keys from the contractors on December 22nd. From there, Director of Public Relations Kerry Ferguson says it will likely take about a month to move into the facility on Hwy 30. The plan right now is to start seeing patients at the new facility as soon as they can in January.

Kimball Health Services will mark the opening of the new hospital with a grand opening celebration on Monday, February 26th. The date is a legislative break in Lincoln and KHS hopes that Governor Pillen, Senator Harden, and other state dignitaries can make it to the event. Local dignitaries like the Kimball County Commissioners and Mayor John Morrison are also expected at the event the remains in the planning stages.

The new hospital will replace the existing facility and all of the services offered there, while adding more healthcare options and expanding services to the community. KHS staff hopes that the new facility will draw in more residents than currently visit them at the Burg St. location.

The grand opening announcement comes days after it was announced that Cassie Gasseling, the hospitals CFO will replace Ken Hunter as Chief Executive Officer on January 17th.
