Allo, News Channel Nebraska to broadcast Sidney at Wahoo playoff game on TV and radio
SIDNEY - The Sidney High School football team is tasked to make one of the longer trips in the Nebraska School Activities Association State Football Playoffs this week.
No. 4 Sidney (10-1) travels to Wahoo to play the top-seed Warriors (11-0) at 2:30 p.m. MST on Friday in hopes to qualify for a state championship game for the first time in school history.
Fans who are unable to make the more than five-hour trip from the Nebraska Panhandle community to north of Lincoln will be able to watch the game on News Channel Nebraska television, Flood Communications announced Monday. Coverage begins at 2:15 p.m.
Residents in Sidney can watch the game on Allo Fiber, Channel 181. The game will also be streamed online through the NFHS Network. To watch online you need a paid subscription.
The Red Raiders, in the postseason for the ninth time in school history, advanced to their first playoff semifinal game in 30 years with a 41-34 win over Pierce on Friday at Weymouth Field in Sidney. Friday's game will be the first time Sidney has played a playoff game on the road this year.
Wahoo, making their 28th appearance in the postseason, is trying to return to the state championship since they won the Class C1 title in 2019. The Warriors topped Broken Bow in their quarterfinal game, 12-7, last week.
The Rock Sports Bar & Grill in Sidney already announced they will be showing the Class C1 playoff game on their televisions. Fans are encouraged to take photos of them cheering on the Raiders in the bar and restaurant and submit them to @NCNSports on social media for a chance to be on TV.
The game will also be carried on NCN radio station, Cheyenne County Country (1340 AM, 95.7 FM), thebigboy987.com, the free News Channel Nebraska app or tell Alexa to "Play 1340."
