KIMBALL -- In the June 5 City Council Meeting, the council approved moving forward with the Rural Community Recovery Grant through NDED for workforce housing.

The grant is for 1 million dollars to put toward community rural workforce housing. It would allow the city to purchase vacant, run-down properties. The city would then demolish and rebuild or rehabilitate old properties that the community could then purchase.

The council will now move forward with applying for that grant.

Mayor John Morrison said it would be a real asset to this community to clean up the rundown properties throughout the town.
