SCOTTSBLUFF -- At about 12:34 p.m. today, Scottsbluff Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of East 27th Street and Highway 26 regarding a motor vehicle accident.

It was reported that the collision involved a single vehicle and a sport motorcycle with a rider. Dispatch also advised that the rider of the motorcycle was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Lifesaving measures were attempted by the Scottsbluff Fire Department, Regional West Ambulance Services, and a registered nurse who stopped to assist.

These efforts failed and the motorcycle rider was declared deceased at the scene. The only two vehicles involved were the sport motorcycle and a 2009 Subaru Outback. The driver of the Subaru reported no injuries. The motorcycle rider in fatal crash has bee identified as Darrius Davis, 32, of Gering.

The case was assigned to a Scottsbluff Police Department Certified Accident Reconstructionist. This accident is actively being investigated at this time.
