Scottsbluff Police complete July speed grant

Grant funded overtime results in Scottsbluff Police recording numerous citations in two-week period.

SCOTTSBLUFF -- The Scottsbluff Police Officers worked overtime to participate in the National Speeding Prevention High Visibility Enforcement Mobilization from July 12 to July 31 2024.  

The overtime was funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

Scottsbluff Police conducted saturation patrols and regular enforcement during this time period.

The enforcement resulted in the following citations being issued: 46 speeding, 2 reckless driving, 5 driving under the influence, 3 minor in possession, 1 open container of alcohol, 5 seat belt violations, 4 child safety seat violations, 3 obstruction of police, 40 no valid registration, 8 no operators license, 9 no proof of insurance, 5 driving under suspension, 2 learner’s permit violation, 3 window tint violations, 2 improper turn/lane change, 1 fictitious license plates, 1 leaving the scene of a crash, 2 following too close, 2 possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, 1 possession of drug paraphernalia.

There were also 10 warrant arrests made and 5 felony arrests.
