DIX - A routine traffic stop in Kimball County on Tuesday led to the arrest of Mike Evans, 48, after a series of escalating incidents.

According to the Kimball County Sheriff's Office, Evans faces multiple charges, including assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, obstruction, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and driving under revocation.

The Kimball County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull Evans over, but he's accused of fleeing, leading to a pursuit in Dix. Authorities reported that Evans resisted arrest upon being stopped and assaulted a law enforcement officer during the altercation.

With the help of multiple local agencies, Evans was apprehended and taken into custody.

The Kimball Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Dix Fire Department and Kimball EMS all responded to the scene.
