Scottsbluff police reaffirm Kerry Girard's missing person status

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — The Scottsbluff Police Department is reaffirming Kerry Girard remains a missing person following a routine review of records within the National Crime Information Center.
Authorities issued a statement Friday to dispel any rumors after Girard’s missing person entry was temporarily purged from the NCIC database. Police said NCIC validations are regularly conducted to ensure the accuracy and completeness of long-standing entries, and Girard’s information was inadvertently removed during this process. Her case has since been re-entered into the national system.
Girard was 35 years old when she was last accounted for on June 13, 1997. At the time, she was living with her boyfriend in Scottsbluff. Now 61 years old, her family has continued their search, hoping that someone with information will come forward.
