Fire damages car and exterior of Gering home

GERING - No injuries were reported at a house fire in the 700 block of K Street Sunday night in Gering. 

Firefighters from Gering and Scottsbluff responded to the scene after 8 p.m. to find the occupants had evacuated. They put out the fire in five minutes.

The blaze caused $35,000 in damages to a car and the backside of the house. There was no damage on the inside of the structure.

A heat lamp in an outside dog kennel is being blamed as the cause of the fire.
