Scottsbluff soccer teams split district finals on Saturday
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The Scottsbluff boys soccer team punching their tickets into the state tournament for the first time in twelve years. Scottsbluff defeating Norris 2-0 in the District B-4 Finals on Saturday.
Bearcats got on the board in the first half thanks to a penalty kick score from Karim Castillo Leos. Cats adding to the lead thanks to a goal from Jason Escamilla Venzor.
Scottsbluff keeper JT Painter made the lead stick holding Norris off the scoreboard to seal the win. Bearcats will now turn their attention to the Class B State Tournament out in Omaha. Scottsbluff will take on Waverly in round one May 12th.
Meanwhile the Scottsbluff girls soccer team’s season came to an end out in Columbus. Lady Cats falling 7-1 to Columbus Scotus in the District B-4 Finals. Scottsbluff season ends at 10-7, but they return everyone next season with just one senior on the roster.
