The Sidney girls’ basketball team heads into postseason action riding a 15-game winning streak. The 22-1 Lady Raiders are the top seed in the B-8 Subdistrict and will host the tournament on Monday, February 20th and Tuesday, February 21st at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility. Sidney opens the tournament at 5:00 p.m. on Monday against the number four seed, the Gering Bulldogs (6-16). Second seeded Scottsbluff (18-5) squares off in the second semifinal of the night at 6:30 p.m. against third seeded Alliance (12-10). The championship game will be Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. at Sidney High School.

The Sidney Red Raiders (17-5) enter the C1-12 Subdistrict in Ogallala as the number two seed. Sidney will meet third seeded Chadron (9-12) on Tuesday, February 21st for the third time this season in the second semifinal at Prairie View School in Ogallala. Number four Mitchell (6-16) and number five Valentine (4-14) will play Monday night February 20th in Chadron for the right to take on top-seeded Ogallala (22-0) in Tuesday’s first semifinal at 5:00 p.m. The C1-12 championship game is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

The Kimball (8-14) is the number three seed in the C2-12 Subdistrict taking place at Gordon-Rushville High school. The Longhorns open the tournament against third seed Bayard (8-11) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20th. Top-seeded Gordon Rushville (13-4) will play number four Morrill (6-14) in the second semifinal on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The C2-12 Championship game is Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in Gordon.

20-2 Leyton earned the top seed and the right to host the D1-12 Subdistrict in Dalton. The Warriors face number four Hemingford (10-11) at 5:00 p.m. in the first semifinal on Tuesday, February 21st. Second seeded Bridgeport (13-3) will meet number three seed Perkins County (12-10) at 6:30 p.m. in the second semifinal. The D1-12 Championship game is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in Dalton.

Potter-Dix (17-3) will host the D2-11 Subdistrict. The Coyotes earned the top spot and will play the winner of Monday’s game between number four Creek valley (2-15) and fifth seeded Minatare (2-17) on Tuesday, February 21st at 5:00 p.m. in Potter. Second seeded Garden County (15-7) and third seeded Banner County (3-15) meet in the second semifinal at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The D2-11 Championship game is scheduled for Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in Potter.

Girls C-1, C-2, D-1, and D-2 district finals will be played on Friday, February 24th. Girls Class B district finals will be played on Saturday, February 25th. Boys C-1, C-2, D-1, and D-2 district finals will be on Saturday, February 25th, Monday, February 27th, or Tuesday, February 28th.

Girls State Basketball Championships are Wednesday, March 1st through Saturday, March 4th, and the Boys State Basketball Championships are Wednesday, March 8th through Saturday, March 11th in Lincoln.
