The city of Kimball has announced the "Alley Right-of-Way" program. Led by the electric department, the project aims to clear alleys for city utility vehicles, garbage trucks and heavy machinery. Members of the electric department will trim trees across town, around power lines and in alley ways.

Mayor John Morrison reminds citizens that the alleyways are city property. While it is a property owners responsibility to trim and maintain their own trees and shrubs, the city will cut branches and trim shrubbery where it impedes on city land.

The city asks that for the safety of citizens, they remain clear of crews working on the Alley Right-of-Way project. Detours will be posted where crews may block streets.

Kimball residents with questions about the project should call the city office at 308-235-3639.
