Mary E. Moore, 99, a lifelong Kimball resident, died at Kimball Health Services on Sunday, December 8, 2024.  Cremation has been held and Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Lorri Kentner officiating.  Inurnment will be held in the Kimball Cemetery.  Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to view Mary’s Tribute Wall and share condolences and stories with the family.  Memorials may be given in her memory to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Kimball County Manor and Cantrell Funeral Home.  The services for Mary have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Mary Elizabeth Moore, born September 3, 1925, in Kimball, Nebraska, the daughter of Oscar and Ruby (Neely) Linn.  She was raised in Kimball and graduated from Kimball County High School in 1943 and attended Greeley Teacher’s College for one year.  On March 24, 1946, she married Richard Moore in Kimball, where they built a life filled with love and community.

She worked at Linn Hardware, a family-owned hardware store, and devoted her life to raising her family.  Mary had a passion for playing bridge and pinochle with her friends and family, and she enjoyed golfing.

Mary’s life was centered around her family, especially cherishing the time spent with her grandchildren.  A proud and devoted member of the P.E.O., Mary held the distinction of being Nebraska’s longest member, with 80 years of active involvement.  She was a lifelong member of Trinity Methodist Church, being enthusiastically involved in all its activities, providing cakes, cookies and pies to complement the many church functions.  Mary’s legacy of love, community, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

Survivors include her sons, John (Suny) Moore of Thornton, CO., Jim (Stella) Moore of Porter, TX., Jack (Ruth) Moore of Hastings, NE., and Dick (Eileen) Moore of Marquette, NE; daughter, Mary Kay (Bob) Jenner of Surprise, AZ; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great, grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, David Moore, brother, Butch Linn, sisters, Anna Margaret Petersen, Barbara Love and Ruby Fern Ghan.
