SIDNEY -- A Lodgepole woman was taken into custody Saturday for Assault and Resisting Arrest at the Sidney Oktoberfest.

Catherine Bondegard is facing charges of Resisting Arrest and Third Degree Assault of an Officer. Arraignment is scheduled for 10 a.m. November 17.

She was contacted by deputies outside of the north side of the big tent Saturday at Oktoberfest. According to the arrest affidavit, deputies observed her leaving the tent carrying an alcoholic beverage.

Cheyenne County Sheriff Adam Frerichs said the Department has a zero-tolerance for alcohol possession outside of the tent. According to the affidavit, she was ordered to dump her drink three times. On the third command, she started to pour out her drink and then threw the plastic cup and remaining drink at a deputy.

The deputy took hold of her left hand and performed a straight arm bar take-down. She was then handcuffed. While being escorted to the deputy's vehicle, she kicked the deputy's knee. She was taken to the ground while the deputy waited for assistance.

She was escorted to a sheriff's vehicle where she was placed in the back seat. She moved to the left side of the seat, slipped out of the handcuffs and was seen using her cell phone. She was again placed on the ground and handcuffed. According to the arrest affidavit, she continued to resist and deputies advised her if she did not comply she would be tased.

She complied after being tased twice, according to the report. She began to kick again, and she was placed in leg shackles.

She bonded out Sunday; $20,000 or 10 percent.
