Kearney launches 2026 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant Program

Kearney property owners can apply for the 2026 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant to help cover costs for renovations. Applications are due March 31, 2026.

KEARNEY, Neb. — Kearney is now offering downtown property owners the chance to upgrade their buildings while helping cover some of the costs.

The city has officially opened the 2026 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant program, which is designed to help business owners reinvest in their downtown properties by assisting with improvements.

These include HVAC improvements, electrical upgrades, energy efficiency enhancements, facade renovations and more.

Applicants must provide a minimum 50% cash match to qualify.

Completed applications are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31st.

Applications are available on the City’s website, at City Hall, or by contacting the City Planner.
