SIDNEY -- On July 21, Amanda Sharman announced Shirt Tales was for sale.

She said she was relocating and "as much as I would love to take her with me, she needs to stay in the community that has been so good to her."

Korrina Doty, a friend of Sharman's, then decided to take on the challenge and purchased the business.

"It was kind of a little bit of a wild hair. I won't lie. Obviously, the previous owner, Amanda, was a friend of mine. We knew each other from the past, plus we both had kids Sidney High School. We both had one graduate last year in 2024 together," Doty said.

She said she worked with Sharman a lot with purchases for sport events, including Red Raider gear.

"I was always working with Amanda with the designs that she put out for the school. I also had designs that I would bring to her and say 'hey, can you make this shirt for me?' and things like that," Doty said.

The decision took some thought and consideration. She has a history working at Cabela's and Highby Outdoors.

"Since 2018 and fastforward to now, I would say I've been kind of trying to find my way in the world of what does life look like post-Cabela's. With that being said, this is kind of where I've landed. And I felt like this would be a good fit for me," she said.

Inventory and merchandising is almost natural to Doty after working at Cabela's. She said the intriguing part of the business is the design-side, the fun of working with schools, local businesses, individuals with a creative concept.

She wants to develop a web presence for Shirt Tales, including a method to order online.

Presently, store hours will remain the same: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
