SIDNEY — Two Sidney High School seniors were selected as recipients of the 2025 Cruise 'N Class Car Club scholarships, each earning $500 toward their post-secondary education in automotive-related fields.

Kirstin Dougherty and Jashawn Davenport were honored for their academic excellence and dedication to mechanical studies.

Dougherty plans to attend Western Nebraska Community College to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, while Davenport will study Automotive Technology at the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Cruise 'N Class Car Club awards annual scholarships to graduating seniors from Sidney, Potter, Chappell and Leyton high schools who plan to enter automotive-related professions. The scholarship program is designed to encourage young people to pursue careers in the trades and support the future of the automotive industry.

“We’re proud to support students who show promise and passion in these essential trades,” a club representative said in a release.

Applications for the 2026 scholarships will open in the spring.
