NORTH PLATTE – A Colorado man wanted on an attempted homicide warrant was taken into custody Thursday in North Platte, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

NSP said it received information Thursday morning that the suspect, 44-year-old Robert Martell of Denver, was believed to be in the city. The warrant stemmed from an investigation in Colorado.

Around noon, troopers located a Ford F-150 connected to Martell traveling on residential streets near West 6th Street and North Emory Avenue. The pickup came to a stop outside a home, where troopers contacted the driver and arrested him without incident. A passenger, identified as 20-year-old Allison Gruenloh of Littleton, Colo., was also detained.

Investigators say both occupants were found with suspected methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle uncovered a handgun, more than a half-pound of suspected methamphetamine, a knife, burglary tools and multiple credit cards, IDs and checks belonging to other people.

Martell was arrested on the outstanding attempted homicide warrant. He and Gruenloh were also taken into custody on several charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm during a drug violation, possession of burglar’s tools, identity fraud and criminal possession of four or more financial devices.

Both were booked into the Lincoln County Jail.
